I am behind on getting my garden planted this year. I just started my tomato and pepper plants this week, and planted beans, radish and lettuce in my raised bed. I got some inspiration to stop stalling and start planting recently from the Garden Home Deck from P. Allen Smith. Of course most people have heard of P. Allen Smith, since he is an award-winning garden and lifestyle designer and host of a number of garden TV shows.
I received the Veggie & Herb Garden Home Deck that comes with cards with facts about vegetables and herbs along with a DVD. The cards have gorgeous full color photos, and lots of information. They are divided into categories of cool season, warm season, and projects. The dvd includes garden tours, garden projects, and care instructions. It is very inspiring to see the gardens on the dvds, and gives me inspiration to plant my relatively small garden.
After looking through the cards and DVD I’ve decided to plant a few new things this year. I am going to try to grow eggplant, and I love the suggested project in the cards for a salsa garden. The salsa garden includes tomatoes, jalepenos, coriander and basil, all planted together in a container. This looks like fun, and I think it would be a great garden for my son to tend.
In addition to the Veggies & Herbs Deck I received there is also makes a Rose Garden Deck and a Bulb Garden Deck.
