Texas, the Lone Star state, is an amazing state. Unfortunately, I’ve never been there, unless you count changing planes at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. Now you can experience Texas without making the trip there, since Texas on Tour, a traveling road show, will bring Texas to you. The tour just finished in California, and now is headed to Washington, Ohio, Iowa and Minnesota. Here is the schedule for the remaining tour:
- Bite of Seattle 7/15-7/17 Seattle, WA
- Ohio State Fair 7/27-7/31 Columbus, OH
- Iowa State Fair 8/11-8/21 Des Moines, IA
- Minnesota State Fair 8/25-8/31 St. Paul, MN
- This unique tour allows people to experience all that Texas has to offer. It is an interactive road show and has activities like virtual kayaking, live entertainment, and a Texas trivia game (with prizes). You can take home a piece of Texas by getting photographed at the Alamo, Palo Duro Canyon or a Texas city. This sounds like a fun family adventure, and I hope next year they add the New York State Fair to the schedule so I can visit for myself.
- If you are lucky enough to get the chance to visit Texas in person, San Antonio, a vibrant city of history and culture, should be on your list of destinations. This year is the 175th anniversary of the legendary Battle of the Alamo. Plus there is the world famous River Walk, museums and great Texas cooking. Go to visitsanantonio.com to learn more about the city.
You can even enter to win a free trip to Texas in the Texas on Tour Sweepstakes. Now I don’t have a trip to Texas to giveaway (unfortunately), but I do have a great prize pack for one of my readers. One reader will win 2 Texas gift boxes, which include spices, salsa, and chili mix. I received one of these boxes and used it to make some delicious Texas chili. So if you can’t visit Texas or check out Texas on Tour, at least you can enjoy some authentic Texas food.
Entry Method: Please use Rafflecopter form for ALL entries. (For daily Tweets you can just put the word Tweet in the mandatory entry box to unlock the Tweet box if it is locked.) This is the first Rafflecopter giveaway I have done, so if something isn’t working right email me, anne@upstateramblings.com and let me know. This giveaway starts at 12:01 on 7/8 will end at midnight on 7/15.
Disclosure: I was provided a product for review. This review was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.
