When I am giving or receiving presents for children I look for presents that are fun, not too expensive, and have at least some educational value. The Make Your Own Candy Kits from Glee Gum fit all three of those criteria! Their kits allow you to make your own chocolate, gum or gummie candy. They focus not just on making candy, but also on learning the history and origins behind each of the candies, which makes them more interesting. Last year I reviewed the Make Your Own Chocolate kit, and this year I had the chance to try the Make Your Own Gummies Kit.
This kit includes everything you need to make your own Gummie candies, including sour mix, flavored sugar, seaweed, molding starch and more. I really like the fact that the kit uses seaweed instead of gelatin to make the gummies. This makes the candy vegetarian, and teaches children about how we can use all kinds of things from nature in ways they don’t expect. I also like that they do not include molds for making the gummies, but instead have you use molding starch to make your own molds. This encourages creativity and is much more fun than just pouring the candy into a mold. Sure the candies might not turn out as “perfect” as if you used a plastic mold, but they still taste great and are more fun to create.

I was going to say chocolate kit because my family is vegetarian but when I read your blog review properly and realized the gummy kit is vegetarian I was really excited, my daughter would love the gummy kit, we usually can’t eat those kinds of sweets because we avoid gelatin.
