While I have written about coffee on this blog many times, but one thing I have never talked about is iced coffee. That is because until recently I had never actually tried it. I always thought of coffee as a hot drink, and never saw any point in putting it over ice. Plus I strongly dislike iced tea, so I just assumed I wouldn’t like iced coffee. Now I realize what I have been missing out on all these years! I tried the three new flavors of iced coffee from International Delights and they taste amazing.
The three flavors are Original, Mocha and Vanilla. I tried all three flavors, and then shared them with my family at our big Christmas dinner. We had Iced Coffee to go along with our dessert, and everyone who tasted it enjoyed it. The flavors have a distinctive coffee taste, but are also sweet and light tasting. My favorite was definitely the Mocha, it had a nice mix of chocolate and coffee flavors. I was worried the flavors would be too sweet, but they are just right for me. The Vanilla and Original were good too, but the Mocha carton was the one that was empty first, so I guess it was the overall favorite!
Last weekend we were travelling and I needed a coffee fix so I ordered an iced coffee from a coffee shop. It cost almost $4, and it didn’t taste any better than this premixed iced coffee. The convenience of being able to just open the refrigerator and pour a glass is huge too, it doesn’t get much easier than that.
The one downside is that iced coffee isn’t calorie free. Since I am trying to lose weight I do have be careful about not drinking too many calories. The International Delights Iced Coffee is 150 calories per 8 oz cup, so I figure I can have 6 oz every few days as a 100 calorie treat, which is not bad at all! This coffee is brand new, and it will be available in the dairy section of Walmart starting January 15th, and I will be picking up another carton of Mocha as soon as I find it at my local store.

Ooh, I like your breakdown of having 6 oz every few days for 100 calories! I was also thinking about the calories and this is an excellent tip.

Mocha was the winner in our house too, but Vanilla came in close second with my kids.

I love the iced coffee and I like the fact that you can buy it in half gallon sizes….
I love the International Delight Iced Coffee! I also love the fact that you can just open the fridge and grab some iced coffee, without running down to the coffee shop.

You lost me straight up, iced coffee is too weird or hard to make? So, buy it from a supermarket in a carton? Wow. It’s not that hard.
I just LOVE these coffees. If you think about it, you are saving roughly $35.00 in coffee trips to local coffee shops. Hope they have more flavors.
