Purex and Jockey Review

IMG_0966 (479x640)Since I joined a local gym last fall I’ve found I need to have some decent workout clothes.  At first I was just wearing sweatpants and t-shirts, but after a few visits I realized that isn’t ideal.  Clothes that are designed for active wear are more breathable and wick moisture away, which makes them much more comfortable to wear.  One important thing to consider with sportswear is how you wash it.  Normally you don’t want to use fabric softener on sportswear because it can interfere with the wicking properties of the fabric.  But Purex Crystals do not contain oil, so you can use them with all laundry including athletic wear.

To let me test how well this works Purex sent me a large bottle of their Purex Crystals Tropical Splash fabric softener and a Jockey Tech Terry Performance Sports Bra.  I’ve used the Purex Crystals before, and I like the way they soften and freshen the laundry.  The best thing about them as far as I am concerned is that you put them in when you add the detergent and  and don’t have to wait for the rinse cycle.  The Tropical Splash scent was one I hadn’t tried, and it has a nice floral scent which is a refreshing change from the Spring Water kind I usually buy.

jockeyThe Sports Bra from Jockey is also very nice.  The sizes seem to run small, so I’d advise buying a size larger than you normally do, since my bra was a little tighter than I would have liked.  But the fabric is nice and very breathable.  The bra provides plenty of support, and has mesh panels for comfort.   It even has a key pocket so you don’t have to worry about holding anything during your workout.   I usually use the key pocket in my Jockey pants instead, but it still is a nice extra feature to have.    I have washed the sports bra with the fabric softener a number of times since I received last month, and it has held up perfectly.

The Purex Crystals keep all my workout wear smelling fresh, which is pretty important when you are talking about gym clothes!  My favorite part though is that  I don’t have to sort the workout wear out and run a separate load.  The less I have to think about laundry the better, so I like being able to use the same products on all my clothes.  Right now Purex is offering a special coupon for 20% off Jockey products, which you can get here.  The coupon can be redeemed online or at any of their outlet stores, so it is perfect if you need some new workout clothes for keeping those New Year’s Resolutions to exercise more.

Purex has teamed up with Jockey to give away Purex Crystals and Jockey Sports Bra to one of my readers, so you can see how well the two go together.

Thank you for providing a chance win. My laundry woes are the folding. I have a 4 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old, try folding clothes when they are around, impossible! They “try” to help and end up causing more work for me. Sometimes I just want to give up, but instead have to just settle with using nap time as my laundry folding time, so anything that I can do to help save me time and money is a blessing :0)

  6. Jackie says:

I tell my family that if they have a stain on something, leave it on top of the washing machine so I can pre-treat the stain. I hate when something goes through the wash, and I discover after that it had a stain and the stain is set in from washing.
