Australian French Milled Plant Oil Soap Review

I love to use natural beauty products on my skin.  The products just feel so much nicer and I feel better not using synthetic chemicals on my skin.  But when we think about beauty products sometimes we forget the basics, like soap. I recently had the chance to try some French Milled Plant Oil Soap from Australia, and I love it.

Their soap is made from 100% plant oils – sustainable palm oil, palm kernel oil, organic shea butter and vegetable glycerin. There are no filler oils and no tallow (animal fats) or detergents. Most soap that you buy at the grocery store is anything but natural.  I just looked up the ingredients in the soap my husband always uses, and the first ingredient is sodium tallowate, which is tallow or animal fat.  This is a main ingredient in many soaps not because it works better, but because it is cheap.

A quality soap bar made from plant oils will not dry out your skin nearly as much as a bar made from tallow.  The harsh chemicals in many soaps can strip your skin of its natural oils and leave you worse off.  This time of year dry skin is a big problem for me, because of the cold weather and constant hand washing.

I received three different scents of soap, Lemon Myrtle, Ocean Beach and French Pear,  All the scents were subtle, and not overbearing, and I like the French Pear the best. The soaps were perfect for using for washing my hands.  They worked up a decent lather, and left my hands feeling smooth and soft.  I did not feel like I needed to moisturize my hands after washing them.

The soaps are French-milled, which is a process in which the soap is passed through a series of heavy duty stainless rollers to turn the soap base into a smooth fine paste which is then used to make the bars. This makes the soap bars much smoother and more creamy than natural soaps that are hand poured. And in addition to all the other benefits the soap is very pretty too!  It looks great sitting on the bathroom counter.

The price of these soaps on the Australian Soap website is quite reasonable, at less than $4 a bar, and it is even cheaper if you buy in bulk.  For more information about the soap you can contact david@australiansoap.com.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I have a strange weakness for hand made soaps. Those look lovely. I think I would like the lemon myrtle. Very Southern sounding.
