One of the things back to school time means for my family is back to our busy routine. It is more difficult to make dinner when there are classes and sports require me to drive and interfere with meal preparation. So when I was asked to review the new Ultimate Helpers from Betty Crocker I figured it would be a good way to get some help in the kitchen on a busy day.
I don’t use Hamburger Helper very often because my family doesn’t like ground beef much. It is too bad, because ground beef can make a quick and easy meal, and it is cheap too. But I thought it would work to use cubes of beef in place of the ground beef for more of a stew like texture. So I sliced up some sirloin steak and used it in place of ground beef with the Ultimate Three Cheese Marinara Helper.
It tasted great, and was quick and easy to make. I also added some spinach as suggested on the box, to add more vegetables and nutrition to the dish. It took only about 25 minutes to make from start to finish, and my family enjoyed it and in fact there were no leftovers.
