Taking candid pictures of the children and family is always fun, but nothing beats a formal portrait. I love looking back at some of the pictures my children have had taken over the years and it is exciting to see how they have changed and grown. We have always used jcpenney portraits for having our children’s portraits done, and have many great pictures.
My middle daughter is turning sixteen this week, and it is hard to believe she was ever as little and cute as she looks in this formal picture from when she was four! She doesn’t like this picture because she says her hair looks funny, but it is great to remember that her hair was always sticking out all over, even when we were trying to dress her up. Pictures like this are a great way to preserve special moments and look back on them.
The photographers at the studio are always very helpful when it comes to choosing props and backgrounds. I know when I had this picture taken I would never have chosen a yellow background. But the photographer suggested it and it picks up the small amount of yellow in the dress and really makes her bright blue eyes stand out. For inspiration on props and backgrounds to use with photographs, check out my Inspiration with jcpportraits Pinterest board.
Right now jcpportraits is running an April promotion of $20 for 6 traditional portrait sheets (mix and match size and images) as well as one free $9 sitting fee. It is easy to schedule a sitting online, and you can find the location nearest you with the location finder on the jcportraits website. This is such a great deal, and we will be taking advantage of it to get some Sweet Sixteen pictures of my daughter!
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of jcpenney Portrait Studio. I was asked to create a Pinterest Board and pin at least five (5) pins. I give jcpenney the right to repin any or all images/original content from this board. I received a promotional item as a thanks for my participation.
