I have had seasonal allergies since I was a kid. It always is worst in the spring, and I can expect quite a few days of watery eyes and a running nose. It seems to vary year to year how bad it gets, but it never goes away. One thing I have always wondered is what exactly is triggering my reaction?
Mother’s Day is approaching fast, and surely the Mom in your life deserves something special as a present! A lovely spring sweater would make an excellent present, and be something your Mom could enjoy year after year. I recently had the chance to review an item from the Krimson Klover Spring 2013 line, which features knits that are ideal for spring weather.
Hasbro has a new game out that combines Angry Birds with Star Wars, the Millennium Falcon Bounce Game. Putting together two such hugely popular franchises seems like a fun idea, and I knew my son would enjoy testing out this new game. Hasbro sent us a copy to try out, and we had fun bouncing balls and trying to knock down cardboard pigs.
There are many important holidays coming up! Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are just around the corner, and of course many students will be celebrating graduation in the upcoming weeks. It seems like spring time is a whirlwind of events. This year I am especially looking forward to Mother’s Day, because my Mom is planning to visit us. She lives about 300 miles away, and it is always nice when she is able to come up for a holiday. But I am looking forward to all the upcoming celebrations, and making plans.
Cleaning is one of those chores I put off as long as possible, and when I finally decided it can’t wait any longer I want it to go quickly and smoothly. It is annoying when I am cleaning and my bottle of cleaner won’t spray anymore, even though I can tell that there is still some solution in the bottom. Then I am left shaking it and tilting it different directions to try and get the last bit of cleaner out. When this happens I tend to give up in frustration and just toss out the bottle and get a new one, even though I know it is not really empty. To try and remove this common problem Clorox has come up with a new technology with their new Spray Every Drop bottles, which allow you to use every bit of cleaner in the bottle. They asked me to review these new cleaners and see this innovation.
One of the worst things about winter is the dry skin and chapped lips that seem to be inevitable. It has been a long winter here, and unfortunately we still have a few inches of snow on the ground. I have been using lotions I received to review from Carmex to keep my skin soft this winter.
I always like to serve fish to my family a few times a week, because it is a so healthy and easy to prepare. Many experts recommend eating seafood at least twice a week, because of the lean protein and omega-3 fats that it contains. Even though Lent is over fish still makes a great family meal! So I was happy to have the chance to review some products from Gorton’s Seafood recently, so I could try some of the huge variety of healthy seafood that they make.
My family always enjoys trying out new games! We recently had the chance to test out Hasbro’s updated version of Yahtzee, The World Series of Yahtzee. This variation takes the somewhat slow dice game and turns it into a fast paced game where having good reflexes are key.
My kids never want to play traditional Yahtzee because it takes so long to play. In our family the pace of the game is made worse because my husband always takes forever to figure out where to score his dice.
I have noticed recently that most of the (non-dessert) recipes I post seem to be spicy and involve chili peppers of some kind! This is because I enjoy spicy food and like to stay away from bland and boring tastes. So it is no surprise that I wanted to review the new Turkey Jalapeño burgers from Jennie-O! These burgers are available exclusively in Walmart in March, but will be rolling out everywhere next month.
Turkey burgers make a wonderful alternative to hamburgers, especially with grilling season coming up. I don’t eat hamburgers at all, so I like to have some alternative I can bring to a cookout. The idea of spicing up Turkey burgers with some jalepeno and Monterey Jack cheese is a great way to add excitement to a basic meal. [Read more...]
I always enjoy trying out new games with my family! And I recently had the chance to try some fun new active games from Hasbro, Twister Rave Skip It and Twister Rave Ringz. I like the fact that these games get kids moving while the have fun. Plus since they both have lots of levels they have are fun to play over and over again.
