Okay, when it comes to holidays Women’s Equality Day isn’t one of the best known! But it is the anniversary of the day that the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote was added to the Constitution in 1920. It is amazing to me to think that less than 100 years ago many women in this country could not vote.
The start of the Women’s Rights movement is traced back to a convention in Seneca Falls NY in 1848. Now the Women’s Rights National Historic Park is on the site where the convention was held. I was in Seneca Falls a few weeks ago and stopped by the National Park for a quick visit.
