After the long winter my yard needs lots and lots work! Every time I walk outside I notice more chores just waiting to be done, and now that the weather has warmed up it is time to get started. Here are some of the gardening supplies I need this spring:
Of course I also need someone to help me, but luckily I have my teenagers help. One thing that needs to be done is hauling away all the branches which are all over the lawn.
Boys & Girls Club is a great national organization designed to help children reach their full potential. When it comes to using energy one of the biggest things is heating! So chosing a heating method that is efficient and economical is very important. Right now we have a wood stove as the only heat source in our finished basement. It does a great job of heating the space, but the chores of hauling wood and building and stoking the fire get old very fast. Many days we don't even bother to start a fire in it, and just bundle up in blankets when we want to go downstairs.

Life can be stressful can’t it? In my life it seems like things are always busy, and I am always rushing from one activity to another. So when I get sometime to relax and decompress I want to do something that will take me to another world and let me forget all the things I should be doing.
One of my favorite ways to decompress is to read, because it is so easy to get lost in a book and forget everything else. Right now I am reading my way through some Swedish mystery stories, which might not sound relaxing, but it is to me! I am not someone who finds doing nothing relaxing, I like to have my mind engaged. So mystery stories are perfect, because I can try to figure out the puzzle, and enjoy reading about people with really messed up lives.

This year we donated toys to our churches Angel Tree and collected food for our local food pantry. The holiday season is all about families, and for most of us that means we will be doing some traveling this year to visit family. We visited my parents for Thanksgiving, and for Christmas my husband’s family is coming to our house. Either way it seems like everyone is traveling, either a little or a lot.
