Chimichurri Burger

Burgers are a staple food in my house and many others in the summer time!  It is quick and easy to grill some up and have dinner ready, but without variety burgers can get boring.  Here is a fun variation I made this week, using a traditional Argentinian Chimichurri sauce to spice up the burgers.

Chimichurri sauce is a garlicky sauce made with fresh parsley and oregano that is very easy to make at home.  I have lots of parsley growing in pots on my deck, and Chimichurri sauce is one of my favorite ways to use it. The sauce is traditionally used on grilled steak, but it works well on burgers too!

The sauce added some great flavor to the meat, and made a nice change from a standard cheeseburger with ketchup and mustard.

  1. Annie, You had me at chimichurri. I am definitely going to try your burger. I love chimichurri! My parsley is not doing well but I do have lots of oregano. I will buy parsley if I have to. Visiting from See Ya in the Gumbo. Thank you for sharing your recipe there. Pinning this right now.

  3. Once upon a time, I didn’t eat much meat. Now I could eat burgers everyday (well maybe I exaggerate a little). I love a good burger and I especially love burgers with a twist like this one. What a clever idea to use chimichurri! Thank you for sharing.
