March brings one of my favorite holidays, Pi Day! This is the perfect holiday because it combines two things I love, food and math. The day is of course to celebrate the irrational number π, which is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. But the best way to celebrate it is by eating pie, which takes no actual knowledge of geometry.
Now there are lots of different kinds of pie, including hand pies, meat pies, crustless pies and even pizza. But for me pie means dessert, which brings up the important question: Cream Pie or Fruit Pie?
It is tough to decide! I made Chocolate Mousse Oreo Pie for my daughter’s birthday, and everyone loved it.
But Apple Pie is traditional, and when I make it every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas it disappears fast.
I still haven’t decided which kind to make for Ï€ Day this year, but I know I will be making some kind of pie!

that’s a great idea to make pie for Pi day! I love apple pie, but I’d probably do a pumpkin or sweet potato one. Then again you can’t miss with almost any kind of pie!
