Caramel Apple Cake Recipe
Cake Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • 2½ t. baking powder
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ½ c. vegetable oil
  • ½ c apple sauce
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 5 apples
  • 2 t. cinnamon
  • 5 t. brown sugar
Caramel Sauce Ingredients
  • ½ c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1½ t. baking soda
  • ½ c. half and half
Cake Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 and spray a Bundt or Tube pan with cooking spray.
  2. Mix the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar together in a bowl.
  3. Mix the oil, apple sauce, eggs, and vanilla in another bowl and mix until combined.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix thoroughly.
  5. Peel, core and slice the apples. Toss the apples with the cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Put half the batter into the prepared pan. Top with the apples. Pour the rest of the batter into the pan.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes, and let cool.
Caramel Sauce Instructions
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and bring the sauce to a rolling boil. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  4. Drizzle over the cake.
