This book by Scott Schmaltz is a good overview of the fitness and nutrition necessary to lose weight. Schmaltz is a veteran of the fitness industry with over 10 years of personal training experience. This book gives an overview of how to eat better and exercise so that you can lose weight.
I like the fact that the book gives so much practical advice. He gives detailed exercise advice with pictures, which are very helpful. He includes lots of stretching in his plans, which is something I know I need. The book is organized by weeks, and each week includes useful advice on nutrition and the science behind it. The book also includes menu plans, which are pretty basic. The strength of the program is the detailed exercise plans, and the inspiring stories that are included in each chapter. I always enjoy reading about other people who have made positive changes and overcome obstacles.
