Who is an inspiring woman in your family?  Is it your mom, your grandmother, or maybe a niece or cousin?  In my family my younger sister is one of the most inspiring women that I know. My sister Beth decided to head back to college at 35 with the goal of becoming a doctor. She had a successful career as a Social Worker, but she despite that she decided it was time to follow her dream and pursue medicine.

The road to becoming a doctor is a long and difficult journey, and it is even more difficult when you are not fresh out of college and have a family and all the obligations that brings. It took her 12 long years, but she is now a Neurologist, with a thriving practice. She proves that you can’t listen to doubters and that it is never too late to find your passion.

  1. That’s wonderful about your sister! My Mom is the most inspiring for me because she dedicated her life to being a teacher and a mom and helping others. She had the most beautiful, generous heart I could imagine.
