This weekend I am headed to LA for not one but two Red Carpet movie premieres, for Thor: The Dark World and Delivery Man! Of course that means I need to dress up, and finding the perfect dress has been quite an undertaking. I mostly wear jeans and t-shirts, and wear a cocktail dress once a year, in December for the Christmas party at my husband’s company. It seems like a trip to LA calls for a new dress or two, but I need help choosing which ones to wear this weekend!
I set out shopping with my style consultants, my 17 and 20 year old daughters. We found this red wrap dress at Macy’s, and liked the way it looked, especially paired with a sparkly shawl.
I thought I was all set, until I found out about the 2nd Red Carpet premiere last week! I checked my closet, but I didn’t find any dresses that I really loved. So my daughters and I set out shopping again last weekend, and this time my Mom joined us for a big family adventure.
I must have tried on 25 dresses, and it was so hard to pick! This satin turquoise dress was one I loved. Unfortunately it was a little too tight, so I ended up ordering it in a larger size, and have to wait and hope it is delivered on Friday like it is supposed to be.
I decided I needed a backup, just in case the blue dress doesn’t come or doesn’t fit well. So I ended up with this black and gold dress.
But now I don’t know which ones to wear for the premieres, because I like all three dresses! For accessories I have a classic black Dansko pumps, a sequined shawl, and two dressy clutches, one in gold and one in black. I have lots of jewelry so I shouldn’t have any problem picking pieces for the dresses.

Difficult to choose, isn’t it? However, I think that the black and gold (besides matching all the accessories) looks comfortable, chic, and becoming. Of course, your decision is the most important one; just enjoy yourself!
