20 Years Younger by Bob Greene Audio Book Review

20 Years Younger - Bob Greene

20 Years Younger: Look Younger, Feel Younger, Be Younger!

By Bob Greene

Who wouldn’t want to look and feel younger?  In this book Bob Greene offers listeners a practical, science-based plan for looking and feeling their best as they age.  The four areas the book covers are exercise, healthy diet, skin care and sleep.  The audio book includes pdf files which include a diet plan and information on supplements.

Each part of the book is written by (and read by) experts in each area.  Bob Greene is the main author and covers the exercise and diet part of the book.  He brings in outside experts to talk about skin care, supplements and rejuvenating sleep, which can combine to make you feel younger.  I thought this book contained quite a bit of useful information.   There aren’t any earth shattering revelations in this book; I think most people know that diet and exercise are important.  But the book includes a lot of background on theories about why we age and how to reverse, or at least slow, aging.   The science behind aging is something I didn’t know much about, and it was interesting to learn more about aging at the cellular level. Betty Crocker Gluten Free Mixes Review and Giveaway

bakerschallengeNo one in my family is sensitive to wheat products, but I have some friends who are.  I know what a challenge it is to avoid products with gluten – it seems to be in everything, even things you would not expect.  The 11 year old daughter of one of my friends has celiac disease, and has to avoid all wheat products.  It is hard enough for an adult, but for a child who sees all the yummy treats her friends are eating it is even more difficult.  That is why it is so great that gluten free products have become more common over the past few years.

Right now Betty Crocker is sponsoring a recipe contest to give  cooks a chance to show off the creative solutions and tasty treats that they have created for family and friends.  Now through June 30th, you can visit GlutenFreely.com/BakersChallenge  for the chance to win a Grand Prize of $5,000, and be featured by Betty Crocker.  To enter you need to submit an original gluten free holiday-themed appetizer, bread or dessert recipe, using any Betty Crocker Gluten Free dessert mix or Bisquick Gluten Free baking mix.  Recipes will be judged on five key categories: taste, creativity, ease of preparation, consumer appeal and appearance.

To help celebrate the contest Betty Crocker sent me 5 gluten free mixes to try out.  My children wanted to try out the chocolate chip cookies first.  We had never made gluten free cookies before, so I was a little nervous about how they would taste, but I knew the kids would give me their honest opinion.  The mix was very easy to use and the kids made it without any help from me.  The texture of the cookies was a more crumbly than what we are used to, but the kids gobbled them up just the same.  My husband didn’t like them, but that was a plus as far as the rest of us were concerned since that meant there were more cookies for us.
