We picked strawberries this week and ended up with 22 quarts.
We froze most of them, but we also made Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake, using this recipe. I used real whipped cream instead of cool whip, which made it not look as nice, but I prefer the taste of real whipped cream.
I also get my weekly veggies from the local farm program. This week I got mixed lettuce, mesculn greens, radishes, swiss chard, bok choi, green sprouts, one greenhouse tomato and blueberry scones. It seems like I got a lot for my money this week, I guess as more things come into season the prices go down. It all cost $14.95, so my total for the season is $31.85.
