After a busy week Sunday dinner can be a relaxing family meal. One of my favorite things to serve for Sunday dinner is stew, because it is hearty and delicious. Here is a collection of 12 stews that are perfect for a family Sunday Dinner.
They range from traditional Beef Burgundy Stew and Irish Lamb Stew to more exotic choices like African Peanut Stew. I enjoy stew for Sunday dinner because it is usually easy to put together and then I can enjoy family time while the meal simmers away on the stove. After busy weeks in which we are rushing from one activity to another it is nice to take some time for a more leisurely dinner on the weekend.

Let me know your family’s favorite stew!
My husband loves stews, so I will have to keep some of these recipes in mind. 🙂
These stews look delicious. I want to try the fresh pea stew.
My mom made stew a lot growing up, and I’m kind of scared of stew because of it. I need to try these different kinds!
I don’t think my kids would ever eat the snail stew! But I’d love to try the other ones. Great list!
That pork and pumpkin stew looks delicious!
I’m not a stew fan but since we’re having my parents over for dinner this weekend I think I’ll make one of these. Stew is one of my dad’s favorite meals!
The pueblo green chile stew looks intriguing. I would love to try it.
I love nothing more than a big bowl of stew on a cold day. My family however doesn’t share the same feelings.
That African peanut stew sounds delicious!
Those all look so delicious and filling!
I love stews! They are fabulous in cool weather but really good any time. I make a beef barley soup that my mom passed on to me. I don’t know if that qualifies as a stew but it’s so delicious!
