Applesauce

Fall is the perfect time to make homemade applesauce! Applesauce is easy to make and so tasty! Pick a bushel of fruit and learn how to make applesauce.

There are only 3 ingredients in this easy recipe. Apples, water and cinnamon sticks or cinnamon. No sugar is needed.

Wash the apples, peel them and slice them into rings or chunks. You can use unpeeled apples, but your applesauce will be tinted pink!

Put all the apple slices in a large pot. Add 3 or 4 cinnamon sticks and enough water to just cover the bottom of the pan.

Bring the pot to a boil and reduce the heat. Simmer, covered for 30 minutes. Or pressure cook for 5 minutes.

Take cinnamon sticks out and mix with a potato masher or immersion blender. Make your apple sauce chunky or smooth, whichever you prefer.

Add sugar if you like, but if you use sweet apple the applesauce will be delicious without any added sugar!
