🍪Ingredient Notes

For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

  • Butter: I usually use unsalted for baking, but salted works too.
  • White sugar and brown sugar: Using both sugars is the key to a chewy, slightly caramelized pizookie. Light or dark brown sugar will work wonderfully.
  • Egg: The egg binds everything together, giving the pizookie its signature tender crumb.
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Baking chips: You can’t have a pizookie without the gooey, melty chocolate! Use your favorite type – semi-sweet, dark chocolate, peanut butter baking chips, white chocolate chips, or red, white, and blue baking chips.

🥣How to Make an Air Fryer Pizookie

  1. Preheat and Prep: Start by preheating your air fryer to 340°F. While it’s heating up, grab a 6-inch round cake pan or oven-safe dish and lightly grease it.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, cream the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Mix the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until the dry ingredients are incorporated. Beat until the batter is well combined.
  4. Fold in Baking Chips: Gently fold in your favorite baking chips, making sure they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Transfer Dough to Pan: Press the cookie dough evenly into your prepared baking dish. You can add a few extra chips on top for some extra chocolaty goodness.
  6. Air Fry: Place the pan in your preheated air fryer and cook for 13 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are slightly crispy. Remember to watch it, as air fryer cooking times can vary.
  7. Reduce Heat: Lower the heat to 310 degrees F and bake for another 6 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is still slightly gooey. (You know, that perfect pizookie texture!)
  8. Cool: Carefully remove the pan from the air fryer (it’ll be hot!) and let your pizookie cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

🍴Serving Ideas

Serve this giant cookie warm for the ultimate in gooey goodness.

  • Top the warm cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
  • Drizzle hot fudge, chocolate sauce, or caramel sauce over the top for added sweetness and presentation points.
  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt or chopped nuts for a fun twist on the classic pizookie.

💭How to Store

If you have any leftovers (unlikely, I know), cover your pizza cookie with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store it at room temperature for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop it back in the air fryer for a few minutes or warm it in the microwave for gooey chocolate.

⭐Tips

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • You can use a foil baking pan if you don’t have a cake pan that fits your air fryer.
  • Use room-temperature butter for creamier cookie dough.
  • Be sure to watch your pizookie as it bakes, as air fryer cooking times can vary depending on the model and brand.
  • For a fun variation, try using different types of chocolate chips or even mix some peanut butter chips or M&M’s, or chopped peanut butter cups.

📝Oven Baking Instructions

You can make this easy homemade pizookie recipe without an air fryer. Bake your pizookie in a regular oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly gooey. Or check out my recipe for cast iron skillet pizookies for a fun variation.
