⭐Tips and Variations

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • Keep the size of the cauliflower or broccoli florets manageable.
  • Make the bacon ahead of time or save some extra when you make bacon for breakfast.
  • This salad is best served cold, so refrigerate it for an hour before serving.
  • The sweetness of the salad is one of its defining characteristics. But if you aren’t a fan of a sweeter dressing, reduce the amount of sugar by half.
  • If you want additional ingredients in the salad, stir in some dried cranberries, raisins, or green onion. Sunflower seeds or pepitas make it extra crunchy.

📝FAQ

Why use raw broccoli and cauliflower in this salad?

Using raw vegetables is what gives the salad a nice crunch. Even if you aren’t a fan of broccoli raw, you might be surprised at how good it tastes. The creamy dressing coats them and gives you nice crisp broccoli and cauliflower.

Can I make this with frozen broccoli and cauliflower?

No, frozen vegetables wouldn’t have the crunchy texture needed for this dish.
