My family always enjoys playing games together, and card games make a nice change from board games. We recently had the chance to review a new card game from Hasbro, the Bejewled Frenzy Game.
This game is designed for ages 8 and up, and can be played by 2 –4 players. Game play is fairly simple, as the players race to match gems and build the largest stack of cards. It sounds fairly simple, but there are 70 cards with different shapes and colors of gems, so it is more challenging than it sounds. You receive points for each match, and at the end of the game the player with the most points wins.
The game is great for working on pattern matching skills, which is an important critical thinking skill, that is supposed to help in math and similar  It also moves fast, so the winning player needs to be speedy. This is one of those games were the kids are learning, even though they don’t realize it. That makes it a great game for summer, when kids need to keep up their skills but don’t want to do any formal work.
None of my kids have played on the online Bejeweled Blitz, but this card game includes a link to redeem 4 rare gems that are used in that game. So if you are a fan that is a nice extra bonus! The game can be found at online retailers like Amazon, or at a local mass market retailer, and it retails for $14.99.
Thanks to Hasbro I have a copy of Bejeweled Frenzy to giveaway to one of my readers. Enter in the Rafflecopter form below, there is no mandatory entry.
