Whether you make a blooming onion or not your family is sure to enjoy dipping things into this creamy and spicy sauce. And it takes just 5 minutes to make!

Copycat Sauce

This is a copycat sauce based on Outback Steakhouse’s Blooming Onion sauce. It is very creamy with a base of mayonnaise and sour cream.

Cayenne pepper and horseradish give it a great kick, for the ultimate in spicy dipping sauces.

Make Ahead

This sauce is best when it has an hour or two to rest in the refrigerator after it is made. The cooling time helps all the flavors meld together.

You can make it a few days ahead of time if you like. This blooming onion sauce will keep in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks after you make it.

  1. I tried this last night and I used it on Air Fried chicken wings and it was delicious. Just the right amount of heat — next I’ll try it on French fries and blooming onion. Great recipe!!

  2. I’m hoping this recipe will be the answer. I have tried at least 3 other air fryer bloomin’ onion recipes & they have ended up in disaster.

I love this sauce. I can use it to dip french fries, home fries, use as a sandwich spread and more. Love the kick of the horseradish. This is a favourite.
