- Pie Filling: For this recipe, I use canned blueberry pie filling. It’s a convenient and delicious option to save time. But you can also use homemade blueberry pie filling or use other fruit fillings like cherry or apple for a different twist!
- Canned Biscuits

🥣How to Make Blueberry Bombs
- Prepare the canned biscuits: Open the refrigerator biscuits and separate them into two pieces. Flatten each biscuit into a thin circle using a rolling pin or your hands.
- Fill the blueberry bombs: Place a spoonful of blueberry pie filling in the center of each flattened biscuit. Be careful not to overfill, as this could cause the filling to leak during cooking.
- Seal the biscuits: Fold the edges of the biscuit dough over the filling and pinch them together firmly to hold the blueberry filling inside.
- Air fry: Place the blueberry bombs in the air fryer, leaving space between each one for air circulation. Cook them for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
- Coat with sugar: Brush the cooked pie bombs with butter and sprinkle them generously with sparkling sugar.
🍴Serving Ideas
- Dust with powdered sugar: If you don’t have sparkling sugar, dust your blueberry bombs with a light coating of powdered sugar.
- Serve with a scoop of ice cream: Who doesn’t love the combination of warm, gooey blueberry filling and cold, creamy ice cream?
- Drizzle with a lemon glaze: Add a zesty twist to your blueberry bombs. Try drizzling them with a lemon glaze. To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth. Then, drizzle it generously over your blueberry bombs for a tangy-sweet flavor combination.
- Pair with fresh fruit: Enhance the fruity goodness of your blueberry bombs by serving them alongside a fresh fruit salad or a beautiful fruit platter.
💭How to Store Your Blueberry Bombs
If you have any blueberry bombs left over, let them cool completely before storing them.
Then place them in an airtight container and store them at room temperature. For the best taste and texture, enjoy your blueberry bombs within 2-3 days of making them.
⭐Tips
Be sure to check out the step by step instructions
- I’ve found that the Pillsbury Grands work well in this recipe, but feel free to experiment with different brands to find your favorite. Biscuits with flaky layers work best.
- Sprinkling your blueberry bombs with sparkling sugar adds a lovely touch of sweetness and texture. While I love using sparkling white sugar, get creative and try different colors or flavored sugars.
- Spray the basket with cooking oil or use parchment paper in the bottom to prevent sticking.
- Don’t overfill the biscuits with filling, or you might have an explosion in your air fryer. One tablespoon per pie bomb is the right amount to use.
📝FAQ
Absolutely! If blueberries aren’t your thing or you’re just in the mood for something different, feel free to substitute with another fruit pie filling. Cherry, apple or even lemon curd would all make fantastic alternatives. Just make sure to adjust the sugar levels accordingly if the filling is significantly sweeter or more tart than blueberry.
Yes, you can bake blueberry bombs in a conventional oven if you don’t have an air fryer. Preheat your oven to 375°F and bake the bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and flaky. Remember that the cooking time may vary, so keep a close eye on them to avoid over-baking.

What temp. for air fryer?
Amazing!

Wonted to view your recipes but the site said “dangerous site”. The recipes look heavenly!!!!
Definitely making these. I came across your site clicking on a recipe which was featured on an MSN main page collection. I’m so glad to have found your site. Really appreciate the various content, easy to follow recipes, simple everyday ingredients, and so excited to start using my air fryer with the many different recipes you have shared – starting with this one. Yay! 🙂
CAN YOU DO THIS WITH CRESCENT ROLLS ALSO?
Biscuits work better than crescent rolls, they are more likely to leak filling with crescent rolls.
Crescent rolls sound perfect because they are crispy in oven but fruit may leak; and the other one on biscuits in oven isn’t crispy like air fried …. good to know or experiment more. Thumbs up!
I DON’T HAVE A AIR FRYER, CAN I PUT IN OVEN, AND WHAT TEMP??
THANK YOU, NANCY
Yes, you can bake them at 375 F for 12-15 minutes until they are golden brown. They won’t be as crispy outside.
