It is the perfect solution when you need something festive but your schedule is packed with egg hunts and family gatherings.

You will love how this dip captures that distinct Mini Egg flavor while turning it into something entirely new. The crunchy candy pieces provide texture throughout the creamy base, creating a contrast that’s even more satisfying than eating the eggs straight from the bag.
Are you worried that a dessert dip might be too sweet or heavy? This recipe balances the sweetness with cream cheese, giving it a more complex flavor profile that keeps everyone coming back for more without sugar overload.
I’ll show you the simple steps to create this dip, and include all my best tips, including the best way to crush these surprisingly hard candies! Serve it with graham crackers, pretzels, or fresh fruit for a fun twist on the classic Easter candy.

Ingredient Notes
For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below
- Cream Cheese: Take this out of the fridge at least an hour before starting so it softens.
- Butter: This also needs to be softened to room temperature.
- Whipped Topping
- Cadbury Mini Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
- Powdered Sugar
- Graham crackers: For dipping into the dip. Vanilla wafers or pretzels are tasty, too.

How to Make Cadbury Egg Dip
- Take the cream cheese and butter out of the fridge about an hour before you plan to make the dip so they can soften.
- Combine the softened cream cheese, butter, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Beat until well combined and fluffy.
- Add the powdered sugar to your cream cheese mixture and mix until smooth.
- Use a rubber spatula and carefully fold the whipped topping to keep the mixture light and fluffy.
- Crush up most of your Cadbury Mini Eggs, keeping a few out to decorate the top of the dip. Put them in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to smash them.
- Fold those crushed eggs into your cream cheese mixture.
- For the finishing touch, decorate the top with the remaining eggs.

Serving Ideas
This creamy Cadbury Egg Dip goes with almost any dipper! Here are some of my favorite serving suggestions:
- Vanilla wafers or graham crackers
- Fresh strawberries or apple slices
- Pretzel sticks (this is my daughter’s favorite because the sweet-salty combo is amazing!)
- Butter cookies or shortbread
- Animal crackers (the kids love these!)
For the perfect Easter dessert table presentation, serve this dip in a pretty glass bowl surrounded by various dippers arranged in a circle. Don’t forget to save some whole Cadbury Mini Eggs to garnish the top right before serving—it makes such a pretty presentation!

How to Store
Any leftover dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you’re making this ahead of time for Easter, you can prepare the dip the night before. Just wait to add the whole Cadbury eggs until just before serving.
Remember that the cream cheese base means this dip needs to be kept cool, so don’t leave it sitting at room temperature for more than 2 hours. When hosting a longer event, put out smaller portions and refresh as needed from a refrigerated backup supply.

Tips & Tricks
Be sure to check out the step by step instructions
- My biggest tip is to make sure your cream cheese and butter are properly softened. Cold ingredients lead to lumpy dip! Take them out of the fridge about an hour before you start mixing.
- The Cadbury egg coating is hard. I’ve tried chopping them with a knife or using a food processor, but a rolling pin is the best way to crush them. Place them in a zip-top bag so they don’t go flying everywhere.
- You can make this with one or two bags of mini eggs. I strongly recommend two bags, though, because when it comes to chocolate, more is better. I always lose a certain percentage of the eggs to taste testing, too!
- I haven’t tried making this with fresh whipped cream, but it should work. Just whip it until stiff peaks form. However, the dip will not hold up as long as it does with whipped topping, and I wouldn’t make it in advance if you are using whipped cream.
- This is a sweet dip. If you’re worried about sweetness, start with ¾ cup of powdered sugar and adjust to taste.
