This post was sponsored by AT&T but the opinions are completely my own based on my experience. Summer is the perfect time to be out and about with your family, having new experiences and making memories. One of my family’s favorite summer adventures is the New York State Fair, because it has so much to […]
Okay, when it comes to holidays Women’s Equality Day isn’t one of the best known! But it is the anniversary of the day that the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote was added to the Constitution in 1920. It is amazing to me to think that less than 100 years ago many women […]
This morning I had the chance to get a behind the scenes look at the New York State Fair! The Fair officially opens tomorrow (and runs August 25 – September 5), but I got a sneak peak at some of the additions and changes. And there are a lot of changes this year, because the […]
I received complementary tickets from Symphoria, and all opinions are my own. Last night my husband and I had the chance to attend an amazing performance from Symphoria, Cirque de la Symphonie. The performance was a fun combination of classical music with circus acts, and it went together beautifully. The acts included jugglers, mime, aerial […]
For my family going to the NY State Fair every year is practically a requirement. I have lived in New York for over 20 years now, and I think I have only missed the State Fair once in all that time. In fact the first date my husband and I went on was to the […]
Over the weekend I had the chance to see the play Damn Yankees at the Merry Go Round Playhouse in Auburn, and it was a great show! The play is a classic Broadway musical that tells the story of Joe Boyd, a die-hard Washington Senators fan. He is such a big fan that he sells […]
Disclosure: I am receiving complimentary tickets to a show. Attending a live theater performance is always exciting! And not having to travel all the way to New York City for professional musical theater is even better. This summer the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival is returning to Auburn, New York, for its third season, from […]
Monster Jam®, the world’s premier monster truck series, is returning to the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y., on Saturday, March 8. Tickets are now on sale and affordably priced for the whole family, with seats starting at $10 for kids and $25 for adults. In 2013, Monster Jam at the Carrier Dome nearly sold out […]

Tigressá makes finding that perfect carpet much easier, by […]
A few weeks ago we drove by a sign for Stone Quarry Hill Art Park near Cazenovia New York, and decided to stop in on the spur of the moment since it sounded interesting. It is a very unusual park, filled with outdoor art and sculptures.
When I hear Watkins Glen the first thing that pops into my mind is NASCAR and racing! But it turns out the town of Watkins Glen, NY also has an amazing State Park that is well worth a visit. Actually I think it is way more interesting than auto racing, although my son might disagree. […]
The Museum of the Earth has been open for ten years in Ithaca NY, and for ten years I have been telling my family that we should go see it. This summer we finally made the short drive and visited, and we had a blast.
Last weekend my husband and I headed to the Fairgrounds in Syracuse NY for the 2013 PPG Syracuse Nationals, and it was tons of fun! When I was offered tickets to attend in exchange for a review I knew my husband would enjoy it, but I am not nearly as much of a car buff […]
Disclosure: I received a complimentary ticket to attend the QBL Tour Day. Last week I had the chance to attend the Tour Day and Quilt Show for the annual Quilting by the Lake program at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. This great two week event is sponsored by the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn NY, […]
Next weekend is the huge 14th annual PPG Syracuse Nationals presented by Fastrac Markets and Ford Tri-State Dealer Group car show at the New York State Fairgrounds! This is the largest car show in the northeast, and will be a three day automotive extravaganza lasting from Friday, July 19th through Sunday, July 21st. My husband […]
My son spent the weekend at Watkins Glen with his Boy Scout troop enjoying some racing.
Do you enjoy quilting and fabric arts? My mom has made many quilts, but personally I have only made a few small ones. But sewing and making things out of fabric has always been a hobby of mine. Next month quilting enthusiasts from around the country and Canada will travel to Syracuse NY to participate […]
My family and I had the chance to visit the Oneida Community Mansion House a few weeks ago. It is a fabulous old building, that was the headquarters for the utopian Oneida Community in the late 1800s. The Community only lasted about 30 years before it disbanded and morphed into a silverware company.
