Cooking with kids is enjoyable and educational! This fall Chef Boyardee wants to encourage families to get in the kitchen with their children through a series of fun online activities. You can make a fun, customizable recipe e-card that gets you and your family in the kitchen with Hector Boiardi himself! I tried it and got a cute recipe card featuring my kids. Here is a screenshot:
You can make your own at the Chef Boyardee ME! Recipe Card and make your own e-card. Chef Boyardee also sent me some fun accessories include a chef’s hat, apron, product coupons and a pizza kit, so my kids and I could do some cooking in our own kitchen.
My 13 year old son had a friend over the afternoon to play, so I decided we should make pizza for lunch. My son’s friend was very enthusiastic about helping out, but there was no way the two boys were willing to wear the chef’s hat or apron, especially since I had a camera! But they did a great job of rolling out the pizza dough and adding lots and lots of cheese.
The pizza ended up more oval than round, but they had fun making it, and then the two of them ate the entire pizza. Teenage boys certainly seem to like to eat! That is one reason it is a great idea to get them cooking for themselves, because the more the kids do the less I have to.
My daughter likes to take Chef Boyardee Ravioli and add lots of Mozzarella cheese to make a layered ravioli casserole.
Cooking with children is fun, and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Take advantage of your kids interest and get them into the kitchen cooking meals. To help you out a have a prize package like the one I received from Chef Boyardee to giveaway to one of my readers.
