🥘Ingredient Notes

For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

  • Croissants: I usually opt for store-bought croissants. They’re quick, easy, and always buttery and delicious.
  • Chocolate chip cookie dough: Use your favorite store-bought cookie dough, or if you’re feeling extra creative, whip up a batch of homemade cookie dough.
Croissants surround a block of chocolate chip cookie dough with lines marking the segments. Text labels indicate "croissants" for the croissants and "chocolate chip cookie dough" for the dough block.

🥣How to Make Cookie Dough Croissants

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. This will keep your croissants from sticking and make cleanup quick and easy.
  2. Slice your croissants in half, but not all the way through. You want to create a little pocket for the cookie dough to nestle into.
  3. Place 2 pieces of cookie dough in each croissant.
  4. Top the middle of each croissant with an extra piece of cookie dough because, let’s be real, more cookie dough is always a good idea.
  5. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookie dough on top is golden brown and the croissants are nice and toasty.

🍴Serving Ideas

These cookie dough croissants are the perfect treat for a lazy weekend morning, a special occasion, or any time you need extra sweetness in your life. They taste best when they are warm and gooey from the oven.

You can serve them for dessert, an indulgent breakfast, or a brunch treat. For a pretty presentation, give your cookie dough croissants a light dusting of powdered sugar.

💭How to Store

If you have leftovers, place the cooled croissants in an airtight container and store them at room temperature for up to 3 days

When you’re ready to enjoy your leftover cookie dough croissants, reheat them in the oven or microwave until they’re warm and gooey again.

⭐Tips

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • While classic chocolate chip cookie dough is always a winner, you can experiment with other flavors. For a fun twist, use peanut butter, snickerdoodle, or sugar cookie dough.
  • Keep a close eye on your croissants while they’re in the oven. You want the cookie dough to be gooey and the croissants to be golden brown, but don’t overbake.
  • These cookie dough croissants are best served fresh from the oven while the dough is still warm and melty.
  • This recipe uses store-bought cookie dough, typically made with pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour. This makes it safe to eat without being fully baked. However, if you’re using homemade cookie dough, make sure to use pasteurized eggs and heat-treat your flour to ensure food safety.
