My children like all the fancy Christmas cookies we make this time of year, but they still love the old fashioned favorites we have year round. So we always make chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies for Christmas too. This year to make the oatmeal cookies a little more seasonal I added dried cranberries instead of dried raisins, and they taste great. The recipe is basically a standard oatmeal cookie recipe, although the spices are changed up a little bit to got with the cranberries.
Ingredients:
- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3 c. oats
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 t. nutmeg
- 1/2 t. cardamon, ground
- 1 c. dried cranberries
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
- Add in dry ingredients and mix into butter mixture.
- Blend in cranberries.
- Use spoons to put on ungreased cookie sheets and bake 10-12 minutes.
Oh, yum! I could even eat these if I can find some gluten free oats when I go to the store this afternoon!

I love these cookies! I used to make these and also a mix of cranberries and raisins.
These look amazing, and I have a feeling they will taste the same! Gonna have to try this recipe with the grandkids!
