Pizza is a staple food at our house, but even though we eat if often everyone does not agree about the best kind of pizza to make. With five members of the family I get five different requests for pizza toppings! So the cool new DIGIORNO® Design-A-Pizza kits are perfect for us, because everyone can have what they really want!
Frequently we end up with just plain cheese pizza, because all want different toppings, so as a comprise we just don’t use any toppings. Of course this means no one is happy, or enjoys the pizza as much as they could. So the chance to have everyone create their own perfect slice appealed to my family.
I headed to Walmart to get some of the pizza kits. The kits were easy to find, as they were right in the frozen food aisle with all the other pizza. I chose the Pepperoni & Sausage with Peppers Kit and the Spinach, Tomato and Red Onion with Pepperoni Kit. Digiorno also has a Chicken, Green Peppers and Red Onion Kit, so there is something for everyone.
We had the pizza for lunch over the weekend, and it was a big hit. The pizza is nicely packaged, with separate packages for each of the toppings. The included toppings also included pizza seasoning and extra cheese. For the Spinach, Tomato and Red Onion with Pepperoni Kit we decided to get creative, and designed a “flower” using the pepperoni for the petals and spinach for the stem and leaves. This turned out really cute, and it tasted great too!
For the Pepperoni & Sausage with Peppers Kit we made a more traditional pizza, and divided it into quarters. Two quarters we filled with meat, one quarter with peppers and one quarter with just cheese.
The entire family enjoyed eating the pizza and loved the taste. Digiorno has been our favorite frozen pizza for years, because the crust is so tasty. It is crispy on the bottom and chewy, and tastes better than what we get from our local pizza parlor! Having all the different toppings was fun, and playing around with them was fun too. These would be perfect for when the kids have friends over, and I am going to make sure we have some on hand the next time the kids have a sleepover!
