Last week I described how I changed to a new medium roast coffee from Peet’s Coffee, the Café Solano. I have been drinking it for about 2 weeks now and I am enjoying the change. Before this I usually bought store brand or bargain coffee, and I can’t believe how much better this coffee tastes. It has a much richer flavor, with more body. Some things are worth spending a little more on, and I guess I am going to have to add coffee to that list.
When I did my grocery shopping this week I noticed that my local store had added even more Peet’s Coffee! So naturally I had to buy the other medium roast coffee that Peet’s sells, Café Domingo, which the store didn’t have a few weeks ago. Peet’s describes this blend as having a smooth and balanced taste with hints of toffee sweetness. It was very good, with a slightly stronger taste than the Café Solano, and it was a little sweeter also. I think I prefer the Café Solano slightly, but it is nice to have different ones to try.
At the store I also noticed that they had both the Café Domingo and Café Solano as whole beans, not ground. It is good that you have the option of buying whichever one you prefer. I like the convenience of ground coffee, because the last thing I want when I get up in the morning is an extra step between me and a cup of coffee! But maybe if I had a fancy French Press coffee maker, instead of my bottom of the line drip coffee maker, I’d feel differently. I hope the store continues to expand the variety of Peet’s Coffee that they are offering.
There is a #PeetsCoffee Twitter Party tonight, 10/19, at 10pm Eastern. You can see all the details and RSVP here: Twitter Party Details. I will be there and hope you can join us, and of they will be giving away Visa gift cards up to $100, which will buy a lot of coffee.
