My family always enjoys playing games together, and lately that has meant video games as often as board games.  Video games can be a fun way to connect with your children and spend time together. One thing my kids love about challenging my husband and I to video games is that they seem to be able to beat us regularly!
NCAA Football 12 is an example of a game that is fun for a family to play together. Sports game are always better with a partner, since otherwise you have to play against the computer. Next week the brand new version of this game, EA Sports NCAA Football 13 will be coming out! My son can’t wait, because it will add even more features. NCAA Football 12 is a football game focused on the big time world of college football. You get to do the complete journey, from recruiting high school players through bowl games.
My son enjoys all the technical setting up aspects of playing this game in the Dynasty mode. He will spend lots of time setting up a team, recruiting and designing matchups. I, on the other hand, just want to get to the football game. Of course this is undoubtedly part of the reason I can’t win! Check out his intense concentration as he designs the ultimate team, which will crush mine.
My son also enjoys being the football coach, because in some modes the coach can be fired! That makes it more fun when you are playing against the computer, and he thrives under that kind of pressure. The game play is surprisingly easy to play, even for a novice such as me. We watch more professional football than college football, so the strategy is a little different, with different plays and types of offenses. I like the graphics, because they make the field and players look so realistic. They also add in fun touches including team mascots and an energetic, interesting commentary. It never ceases to amaze me how this game makes the commentary seem so realistic, including things like halftime reports. You will think you are watching ESPN!
The new NCAA 13 Football promises to be even more fun to play. The biggest thing we are looking forward to is a new passing system, which is designed to give you better control and allow the receiver to react to the defensive coverage. Also a new reaction time mode will allow you to slow down time to give you more time to react to what is happening on the field. I really need this, since I am much slower at seeing a play develop than my son. And if you are into football history there is will be a Heisman Trophy challenge, which will allow you have a former Heisman Trophy winner, such as Herschel Walker, on your team. I know my husband will enjoy that kind of a challenge. Plus there are changes to the Dynasty mode, which make recruiting even more fun by adding in dynamic recruiting pitches. All in all it sounds as if they have made some exciting upgrades!
A neat thing you can do when NCAA 13 Football comes out is participate in the You’re Covered program. This allows you to upload you photo online and print a custom game cover featuring their face on the body of an NCAA Football 13 player. How cool is that?
I think it is safe to say this is the only way my son is playing college football, so I am going to put his picture on the box for sure! When NCAA Football 13 comes out I will be posting again, so you can see my son, the college football star, and I will even have a fun giveaway for my readers. Meanwhile you can connect with NCAA Football and share the excitement of this big launch on Facebook or twitter, @EANCAAFootball.
