My kids are supposed to be responsible for taking out the kitchen garbage when it gets full. This means that they try to stuff as much garbage into it as possible, and put off taking it out. The result is that when it finally does get taken out the garbage is bursting, and heavy. That is when Glad Black Bags come in handy – they never rip or tear, and can stand up to the amount of garbage my kids cram in. The Glad Force Flex Bags are my favorite, because they are extra strong and when we use them the garbage bags don’t rip before they get outside and and the garbage doesn’t end up all over the kitchen floor.
Right now Glad, partnered with the Picker Sisters and Keep America Beautiful is sponsoring a fun art auction, where all the art is made of garbage. Famous mosaic artist Jason Mecier has created four wildlife artworks which are currently being auctioned off on ebay.
All the pieces of art look amazing, but this chimpanzee is my favorite. Until April 26th you can bid on these gorgeous pieces at www.ebay.com/gladartauction. All the proceeds from the auction will go to Keep America Beautiful to help clean up communities around the country. So if you are looking for ways to help out check out this auction, or find a community cleanup in your area and volunteer! I know that this weekend is my town’s “Community Betterment Dayâ€, and my son and I will be out helping pick up the garbage left over the winter..Â
- Creating art from trash is a fun project, even if you aren’t as talented as Jason Mecier. Here is a creation my son made out of old cardboard boxes. It is some kind of fort, and then he made little clay robots to live in it. So if you are looking for a fun craft project let you kids experiment with the contents of your recycle bin and see what they can come up with!
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Glad Black Bag and received a Glad Black Bag product and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. I was also asked to “pin” one (1) Glad Black Bag Art Auction photo on Pinterest.
