Now that Thanksgiving is over it is time to think about Holiday shopping! Maybe some of you have already started shopping for the holidays, I know I have. One of the great things about Thanksgiving is visiting family that lives far away. At Thanksgiving we always see my brother and his children, who live about 300 miles from us. So I try to get Christmas presents for my nieces and nephew before Thanksgiving, so I don’t have to mail a package to them. I am not always organized enough to get this done, but this year I went holiday shopping at Sears and had my presents wrapped and ready before Thanksgiving.
Last week my 18 year old daughter and I went to Sears to pick out presents. I like to take my daughter because she has good taste, and doesn’t spend the entire trip looking for things to add to her own Christmas list. Plus she had just returned from college for her Thanksgiving break, so it was a good time for us to spend some time together. I loved seeing all the Holiday decorations and displays at Sears, even though we weren’t looking for Holiday décor.
One of the nice things about shopping at Sears is that they have a wide variety of products, everything from appliances to electronics to toys. It is much easier to shop for a wide variety of ages at a store that sells everything. My nephew is 6, so toys are still the top choice for him. But his sisters are 11 and 14, so they are not as interested in toys as they used to be. For my nephew we concentrated on the Toy Shop, where we found toys like this Craftsman Power Washer Set.
For my nieces we looked at items like Hello Kitty accessories and hoodies.
It was hard to pick presents, especially the ones for my nieces. But after about 45 minutes of debating we came up with fun presents for everyone we were shopping for, and a present for my 12 year old son, who I was not planning to buy for. But I found something for him that was such a good deal I had to buy it anyway! You can see all the details of my shopping trip along with the presents we selected in my Google + photo album. After our trip I wrapped the presents for my nieces and nephew, and yesterday I gave them to my brother to put away for Christmas. I am glad to have at least some of my shopping taken care of so early in the season!
