Ice cream is a treat that never gets old!

When my kids were younger they played many team sports, including baseball and soccer. It was always a tradition for us to get ice cream after a game, either to celebrate a win or, more often, to console them about a loss.

Many times we would go to a local ice cream stand, and often most of the team came along. For one league the kids played in an ice cream truck would always show up at the end of the games, and all the kids would run over and pick out their favorite kind.

My kids aren’t in organized sports anymore, but that doesn’t mean they don’t still enjoy ice cream!

It is a perfect treat for hot summer nights or for an after game snack.  After all some of the best summer memories are messy ones!

  1. lately our summer treat has been a cone from McDonald’s once or twice a week. I had forgotten how yummy they are! I know they’re not that great for you, but they’re delicious!
