🥘Ingredient Notes

For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

These cookies use baking staples, including butter, white sugar, vanilla extra, eggs, flour, baking soda, powdered sugar, and salt. You also need these ingredients:

  • Hershey’s Cookies and Creme bars: These candy bars add an extra layer of texture and sweetness to the cookies.
  • Oreo cookies: Mini Oreos are used to decorate the cookies. The cookies and frosting also contain chopped Oreos, and you can use either regular or mini Oreos for that.
  • Cornstarch: A little cornstarch in the dough helps to create a softer, more tender cookie.
  • Heavy cream
Baking ingredients arranged on a table, including ground Oreo cookies, eggs, vanilla extract, white sugar, flour, whole Oreo cookies, butter, cornstarch, salt, baking soda, and Hershey's bars.

🥣How to Make Cookies N Crème Milkshake Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a couple of baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer. Don’t rush this step.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until everything is well combined and smooth.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing at low speed until combined.
  5. Gently fold the chopped Oreos and Hershey’s Cookies N Crème candy bars until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie for them to spread in the oven.
  7. Bake the cookies for 14-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the centers are set.
  8. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This resting time allows the cookies to firm up and develop their perfect texture.
  9. While the cookies are cooling, it’s time to whip up the frosting. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy. Mix in the finely chopped or ground Oreos until evenly incorporated.
  10. Once the cookies are completely cooled, transfer the frosting to a piping bag and pipe a swirled ring on top of each one. Place a mini Oreo cookie in the center of each swirl for a picture-perfect finishing touch. You can also just spread the frosting on with a knife.

🍴Serving Ideas

These Cookies N Crème Milkshake Cookies are perfect for any occasion, from a casual family dessert to a fancy party spread. One of my favorite ways to enjoy these cookies is with a tall glass of cold milk.

There’s just something about the combination of rich, creamy cookies and refreshing milk that hits the spot every time. If you’re feeling extra indulgent, try dunking your cookie in the milk for a few seconds before taking a bite!

If you’re serving these cookies at a party or gathering, try arranging them on a pretty platter or cake stand. Just be warned—these cookies tend to disappear quickly, so make sure to snag one for yourself before they’re all gone!

💭How to Store

If you plan on enjoying your cookies within 3 days, you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Just make sure to keep them out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources.

Place your cookies in an airtight container for extended storage and store them in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Let the cookies come to room temperature for a few minutes before serving, as the frosting can harden when chilled.

To freeze these cookies, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and pop them in the freezer for about an hour or until the frosting is firm. Then, transfer the frozen cookies to a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag, separating each layer with a piece of parchment paper to prevent sticking.

When you’re ready to indulge, simply thaw the cookies at room temperature for a few hours or in the refrigerator overnight. They should keep well in the freezer for up to three months.

⭐Tips

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • When you’re adding the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix just until everything is combined and no streaks of flour remain. Overmixing the dough can lead to tough, dense cookies.
  • If your cookie dough is too soft and sticky to scoop, try chilling it in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour before baking.
  • The cookies are done when they have lightly golden brown edges and set centers. They may still look a bit soft and underbaked in the middle, but don’t worry—they’ll continue to set up as they cool on the baking sheet.
  • If you don’t feel like piping swirls of Crumbl style, spread the frosting with a knife
  • If you are planning to pipe on the frosting, make sure the Oreos in it are well crushed so they don’t clog the piping tip.
  • While the frosting takes these cookies to the next level, they’re still plenty delicious without it. So skip the frosting if you prefer.
