My La-Z-Boy Mom Cave Dreams

Having personal space is so important!  we have a big house, but it seems like there is no place that is just mine, somewhere I can retreat to for some calm relaxation, to just read a book.  We recently bought a new mattress and rearranged our bedroom, and it seems like the perfect time to create my own space in it, somewhere that can be my Mom Cave! It is fun to browse and plan a redecoration, just to get ideas and imagine the possibilities.

My bedroom needs a makeover

Here is our bed in re-arranged room, where it fits nicely between the two windows.  Yes we still need a headboard, but that can wait, what I am more interested in is the space opposite the bed, between the bathroom and closet door.  It used to have a dresser and a mirror, but we moved those to a side wall, so right now it has, well, nothing actually.

This blank wall will be my #MomCave

I’ve got an old trunk full of quilts, with the hooks from the mirror still in place, so it just looks empty and pathetic.  I’d love to have a comfy chair or loveseat with a nice end table and lamp, and of course some wall art.  So to find some inspiration I headed to the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries to see what they have to offer.

There were lots of comfortable chairs, some of which were the recliners you think of when you think of La-Z-Boy, but many of which are not recliners.  I decided I was looking for a more elegant, simple look, and not an overstuffed piece.  That still left me with a large variety to consider, from wing back chairs to simpler designs.

It was fun spending an afternoon browsing through the La-Z-Boy Showcase gallery and dreaming about my Mom Cave.  Even though my family has higher spending priorities right now I got some great ideas, and am going to do something about the boring blank wall in my room!

  1. A mom cave! Love it 🙂 I’d have a difficult time deciding between the chaise and the love seat. I love the idea of relaxing with a great book and a glass of wine on the chaise..hmmm…..

  2. I love that chair on the right in the first group of pictures! Also, the pillows on the sofa (and the sofa itself). They have some really cute stuff now! I remember many years ago, when they were pretty much just known for their recliners. Now, they really have an amazing selection.

  3. You are not alone! My husband and I have been working on bringing our home’s style out of the 80’s and our master is probably the last room we’ll tackle. I have, thankfully, enough room for a sitting area but, regretfully, nothing to fill it with! I love the pieces you discovered and they would all be perfect for creating my own space. Thanks so much for sharing your finds 🙂
