🥘Ingredient Notes

For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

  • Peaches: Look for slightly soft peaches with a sweet, fragrant aroma. If your peaches are a bit firm, let them sit at room temperature for a day or two to ripen up.
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Mozzarella: I like to use fresh mozzarella balls, but you can also cut larger mozzarella blocks into smaller pieces.
  • Basil
  • Red onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
Ingredients on a countertop include balsamic vinegar, olive oil, mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, red onion, spices, fresh basil, and three peaches.

🥣How to Make Peach Caprese Salad

  1. Wash your peaches and slice them into wedges. I leave the skin on for added color and texture, but you can peel them if you want. Arrange the peach slices on a large platter or individual serving plates.
  2. Scatter the cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls over the peach slices, distributing them evenly.
  3. Scatter the fresh basil leaves and thinly sliced red onion over the top of the salad. You can tear the basil leaves into smaller pieces or leave them whole for a more rustic look.
  4. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper over the top of the salad to taste. The seasoning will help bring out the flavors of the peaches and tomatoes.
  5. Finally, drizzle the salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I use about equal parts of each, but you can adjust the amounts to your liking. You can also whisk the oil and vinegar in a small bowl before drizzling it over the salad.

🍴Serving Ideas

Here are a few of my favorite serving ideas.

  • This salad makes a great light lunch or appetizer on its own. It’s perfect for a summer day when you don’t want to turn on the oven or spend too much time in the kitchen. Just pile the salad onto a plate and enjoy!
  • Peach caprese salad is a great side dish for grilled meats or fish. I love serving it alongside grilled chicken or salmon for a fresh and flavorful summer meal.
  • Try serving this salad with some crusty bread on the side for a more substantial meal. I like using a rustic sourdough or a baguette, but any crusty bread will do.

💭How to Store

If you’re planning on storing the salad for later, it’s best to keep the dressing separate until you’re ready to serve. Separate containers prevent the salad from getting soggy and help the ingredients stay fresh for longer. Store the dressing in a separate container in the fridge and drizzle it over the salad right before serving.

Store the salad in an airtight container in the fridge to keep it fresh. It is best enjoyed fresh, so try to eat any leftovers within 1-2 days of making it. After that, the peaches may start to brown, and the tomatoes may get mushy.

⭐Tips

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • When selecting peaches for this salad, look for ripe ones that are still slightly firm. Overripe peaches may be too soft and mushy, while underripe peaches may be too hard and lacking in flavor. When gently squeezed, a perfectly ripe peach should have a little give but shouldn’t feel too soft or mushy.
  • While fresh mozzarella balls are the traditional choice for a caprese salad, you can experiment with different types of mozzarella. Burrata, a creamier and more delicate mozzarella, can add a luxurious texture to the salad. Smoked mozzarella also pairs well with the sweetness of the peaches.
  • Try adding some sliced prosciutto for a salty, savory twist. Or mix in some fresh mint for an extra burst of herbal flavor. The possibilities are endless, so don’t hesitate to get creative and make this salad your own.
