I was excited last week when I got a package with Peet’s Holiday Blend Coffee! I was also glad to see there were two bags of coffee, so I could put one in the gift basket I was putting together and still keep one for myself. Of course I had to make myself a cup of the Holiday Blend right away, and I love the taste. It has a nice smooth taste with a hint of chocolate. The second bag I am using to make an easy gift basket to give as a Holiday present to my daughter’s college roommate, Ashley. It is both a Christmas present and a finals week gift basket all rolled into one. After all what is more useful for dealing with those 8am finals than caffeine? Finals week is tough at any time, but for a freshman who has never dealt with it before it is extra stressful, so hopefully a nice gift basket will encourage her and remind both her and my daughter that their Holiday break is just around the corner.
Gift baskets are a great way to send holiday cheer, and picking a theme like coffee makes it very easy to put together. They are perfect to give as gifts to people that you don’t really know as well as you’d like to. After all, it is much easier to buy a bunch of little things than one big present. I got a lot of items for the gift basket, and you can see my entire shopping trip in my Google Plus album. Once I had all the items I realized I was going to have a hard time fitting it all in the basket.
I found if I took some of the things, like the creamer and candy canes, out of their packages I was able to make most of it fit in the basket. I also got Ashley cookies, tissues, some decorations for their dorm room and a giraffe Christmas ornament. I planned to send homemade cookies, but somehow they all got eaten before I put the basket together! So I had to go with store bought cookies, but I am sure Ashley won’t mind too much.
Here is the Peet’s Holiday Blend Gift Basket, ready to go. I mailed the package to her, and she should receive it this week.
So what items are must in your Holiday Gift Baskets?
