🥘Ingredient Notes

For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

  • Graham crackers
  • White chocolate melting wafers
  • Crushed peppermint candies: You can buy pre-crushed peppermint pieces to save time, but you can also crush your own using a rolling pin or food processor.
  • Milk chocolate melting wafers
Ingredients on a marble surface: white chocolate wafers, milk chocolate wafers, graham crackers, and peppermint candies.

🥣How to Make Peppermint Bark Crackers

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and set it aside. If necessary, crush the peppermint candy.
  2. Place the white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and heat them in 30-second intervals, stirring between intervals, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  3. Break the graham crackers in half along the perforated line. This will give you the perfect size for dipping and munching.
  4. Using two forks, dip half of a graham cracker into the melted white chocolate. Flip it over to coat both sides, then lift it out and gently shake off any excess chocolate. Place the dipped cracker on the prepared baking sheet and immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint candies over the top. Repeat this process until you’ve used up all the white chocolate.
  5. Pop the baking sheet into the fridge for about 10 minutes to let the white chocolate set. Once it’s hardened, melt the milk chocolate wafers using the same method.
  6. Dip the bottom half of each white chocolate-coated cracker using the two-fork method into the melted milk chocolate. Place the double-dipped crackers back on the baking sheet and chill for another 5-10 minutes until the chocolate is set.

🍴Serving Ideas

These Peppermint Bark Crackers are perfect for holiday parties, cookie swaps, or just as a sweet treat to enjoy with your family on a cozy night. Pour yourself a glass of cold milk (or a mug of hot coffee) and savor every crunchy, chocolatey, minty bite.

One of my favorite ways to serve these crackers is as part of a festive dessert board. Arrange them with other holiday treats like Christmas cookies, chocolate truffles, and fresh fruit on a platter.

💭How to Store

The best way to store these crackers is in an airtight container in the fridge. When stored properly in the fridge, they will stay fresh for 3-4 days. I find that the peppermint flavor intensifies a bit after a day or two, which is a nice bonus!

⭐Tips

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • The chocolate is the star of the show here, so it’s worth splurging on high-quality melting wafers or chocolate bars. For the best flavor and texture, look for brands like Ghirardelli, Lindt, or Callebaut.
  • Don’t go overboard with the peppermint. Too much peppermint can overpower the chocolate and make the crackers too sweet. Start with the amount called for in the recipe and adjust to your taste.
  • Once you’ve melted the chocolate, it’s essential to work quickly before it starts to harden. Have your graham crackers and peppermint candies ready to go so you can dip and sprinkle them efficiently.
  • The two-fork method is my go-to for dipping these crackers. It allows you to easily shake off excess chocolate and create a smooth, even coating. Just be sure to gently tap the fork on the bowl’s side to remove any drips.

📝Reader Questions

Can I use candy canes instead of peppermint candies?

Absolutely! Candy canes are a great substitute for peppermint candies in this recipe. Just make sure to crush them finely so they stick to the chocolate and don’t overpower the other flavors.
You can use a food processor or place the candy canes in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

How can I melt the chocolate without a microwave?

If you don’t have a microwave, you can quickly melt the chocolate using a double boiler method. Fill a saucepan with an inch or two of water and bring it to a simmer. Place a heatproof bowl on top of the saucepan, ensuring the bottom doesn’t touch the water. Add the chocolate wafers to the bowl and stir until melted and smooth.

Can I use other types of crackers?

While graham crackers are the traditional choice for this recipe, you can certainly experiment with other types of crackers or cookies. Shortbread cookies, vanilla wafers, or even pretzels would be delicious with the chocolate and peppermint flavors. Just keep in mind that the texture and sweetness may be slightly different.
