Palmolive dish soap is something my family uses all the time, but usually for boring things, like washing the dishes. But did you know there are many other interesting uses for Palmolive? One of my favorite is using it for Pre-Manicure Magic.
Using the dish soap in this way is simple and effective. Soaking your nails for a few minutes before applying nail polish has a number of benefits. First of all, the water and soap helps loosen dirt and dead skin, so that your nails are sparkling clean before the polish is applied. Secondly it softens your cuticles, which makes them easy to push back before the manicure.
Here are the simple steps:
- Get your Palmolive and a small bowl of warm water.
- Mix together a small amount of Palmolive with the water in a bowl.
- Let your fingers soak for a few minutes prior to applying nail polish.
Then just dry your hand off and apply the nail polish.

That is quite a few different used for Palmolive, some of which I had never thought of before! I especially like the eco-friendly ideas for using the empty bottles for flower pots or pencil holders.
What is your favorite idea for using Palmolive?
I never would have thought to use it before you paint your nails but what a great idea.
I never thought of this either ! Thank you for the tip !
I knew there was some dish soap that worked to soak your nails as a pre-manicure, but I really think it would be better if the fingertips were painted nicely and didn’t have nail polish on both the cuticles and the skin of the fingertips.
