Dairy Free Smoothie
So many smoothies use yogurt as a base, and while I love yogurt I don’t enjoy having it in smoothies. For this dairy free Strawberry Avocado Smoothie I used avocado and bananas to get a smooth creamy taste without yogurt or milk. Smoothies without yogurt are still sweetly delicious and packed with nutrients, but usually have less calories than one made with yogurt. This makes them a great choice if you are looking for a sweet treat without guilt.
Trial and Error Smoothie Making
With only a few simple ingredients in this smoothie the ratio of avocados to strawberries is critical. The first time I tried it I only used 5 strawberries, and it was a not sweet enough. It was also an ugly puce green color, which made it much less appealing to drink! So I returned the mixture to the blender and added 7 more strawberries, which gave it a great flavor boost, and made it a pretty light pink color. Trial and error is frequently necessary to find the ideal smoothie recipe!
