🧀Key Ingredients

For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

Biscuits – Use large biscuits like Pillsbury Grands. Flakey layer biscuits are my favorite because they are easy to pull apart.

Ham – Deli ham slices work well. Leftover ham is also a good choice as long as it is thinly sliced or diced into small cubes.

Cheese – Pick your favorite cheese to pair with ham. Swiss is the classic choice, but my favorite is cheddar or gouda. Use shredded cheese or cubes of cheese.

Butter – Butter is brushed on top of the bites to make them golden brown and delicious.

Seasoning – I used Everything Bagel seasoning on top. Other good choices are sesame seeds, poppy seeds, caraway seeds, or Italian seasoning.

🥣How to Make Stuffed Ham and Cheese Biscuits

1. Stuff Biscuits

Separate each biscuit piece into two parts by pulling them apart. Use your hands to stretch each half into a circle of about 3 inches. Place some ham slices and cheese in the center of the dough circle.

Pinch the edges together to seal the ham and cheese inside. Continue until all the biscuit rounds are filled.

2. Air Fry

Put the filled dough balls in the air fryer basket with the seam side down. Leave about an inch of space between them, since they will expand. Air fry them at 380 degrees F for 6 minutes. While they cook, melt the butter in the microwave.

After the initial 6 minutes, pull the basket out and brush the bites with butter. Sprinkle the Everything Bagel seasoning on top. Air fry for another 2 minutes at 380 F.

When the bites are done, they will be puffy and golden brown. Let them cool for 3-5 minutes before serving.

📝Can I Bake Biscuit Balls in the Oven?

Yes, these are great when oven-baked just takes a little longer to cook them. Here are the oven baking steps:

  1. Put them on a cookie sheet, seam side down.
  2. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for 15 minutes.
  3. Brush the tops with butter and sprinkle on the seasoning.
  4. Bake 3-5 more minutes.

🍴Serving Ideas

These stuffed ham and cheese biscuits are an excellent appetizer for a game-day party! I like to serve them with a honey mustard dipping sauce. Other sauces that go well are ranch dressing or barbecue sauce.

Include them in an appetizer spread with favorites like air fryer potato skins or ranch chicken wings for your next gathering.

They also make a perfect snack when you need something fast and filling. These are best served warm, so you can enjoy the gooey melted cheese! If they cool off, microwave them for 30 seconds to heat them back up.

❓Can I Make These Ahead of Time?

Yes, you can make these cheesy ham biscuits ahead of time, which is handy for a party! Make them up to a day before baking them. Then cover them tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate them until ready to bake and serve.

Or bake them ahead of time and reheat them when you are ready to serve. You can reheat them quickly in the microwave, air fryer, or oven.

💭How to Store

Leftover stuffed biscuits can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat them by air frying at 350 degrees F for 3-4 minutes or microwaving for 30-60 seconds.
