My daughter went to Quebec last week on a French class field trip, and the highlight of the trip for her was going dog sledding.

My son is testing rocks to try and identify unknown specimens for science this week. I have lots of labeled rock samples for him to test.

This weekend was the First Lego League Robotics Tournament for my son’s Robotics Team.
Wordless Wednesday–Mailboxes
We live on a rural road, and all the mailboxes are on one side of the street – our side. This means we have 4 mailboxes in our front yard. Of course this shouldn’t be a big deal, since most people have normal looking mailboxes, like these:
Wordless Wednesday – Apple Picking
We picked the apples from our trees recently and got a good harvest this year. Our apple trees aren’t dwarf trees, so it is hard to reach the top.
Wordless Wednesday–Wild Turkeys
We had a flock of wild turkeys in our yard four mornings in a row last week. Unfortunately I am not very good at sneaking up on wild birds, and they always heard me coming and retreated into the woods. These are the best pictures I got.
Wordless Wednesday–Dry Ice Fun
I got some frozen fruit bars to review yesterday, and they came packed in dry ice. So of course we had to have fun doing some science experiments with the dry ice!
Wordless Wednesday–Fishing
After six weeks and I don’t even want to know how much money our boat is fixed! Just in time for summer to be over and the weather to turn cold. But we should get a few weeks of boating before the season is over, and last weekend we went fishing and actually caught some fish – very, very tiny fish.
