If you are still shopping for Christmas presents time is running out! If you are looking for a present gift cards are a wonderful idea, no matter who you are shopping for. I like to give gift cards to many people on my list. Let’s face it, some people are very picky about what they get, and for them a gift card is the solution.
This year I had a blast buying presents for my eight year old niece. It is fun to shop and buy for kids, because they are easy to please and there are so many cute toys. When it comes to my sixteen year old niece it is a lot harder! For her I got a gift card, because most teens are so picky about what they wear or listen to. Rather than try to guess her preferences it makes more sense to get her a gift card to a store I know she likes, and let her pick.
This is especially true for anyone you are getting clothes for. It is one thing to pick out a book or a game, but picking clothes for someone else is very hard. You have to get the right size, and many times you can’t tell how something will look without seeing it on them. I know that for my children every year the number one thing that gets returned after Christmas is clothes. They either don’t fit, or just aren’t the right style. So for clothes shopping I go with gift cards every time. Then the recipient gets the fun of going to the store, trying on different outfits and making their own decisions.
Just because you are giving a gift card doesn’t mean the gift has be boring. There are lots of cool ways you can wrap up a gift card and make it more special. I always like to include a small extra present with the gift card. Last year I got my niece an iTunes gift card, and I wrapped it with a set of headphones. That way she got a small gift, and still got to pick her own music. Candy canes make a very inexpensive addition to a gift card gift, and look very cute attached to an envelope.
I know I’m not the only one who likes gift cards, since my GameStop gift card giveaway has more entries than any other giveaway I’ve done this holiday season! So if you are still stressing about what to get someone on your list consider getting a gift card and spend your time baking Christmas cookies, instead of shopping!
