Are you excited about the release this week of the new Simsâ„¢ 4 PC game? The new game promises Smarter Sims and Weirder Stories, all of which make for exciting game play. Sims is one of my family’s favorite games, so you can be sure we were among the first to buy the newest game in this popular series!
The game was released on Tuesday, which also happened to be the first day of Back to Homeschool for my son. So after a busy day of school work we headed to Walmart to get our hands on a copy, and picked up the Sims4 Limited Edition.
Everyone in the family loves Sims, because it is so much fun to build a character and make them interact. It is kind of like a reality TV show where you control the action. My 18 year old daughter especially loves the game, and she will spend hours choosing outfits and picking out things to decorate her Sim’s house. She always likes her Sim to have a big family. My 15 year old son is more into action, and he likes to have his Sims make money so they can buy cool luxury items. His Sims are more materialistic, my daughters are more emotional!
My daughter is off at college though, so my son didn’t have to fight with her over who got to test out the new game first. When I texted her that we were playing it this was her response, shouting in all capitals:
YOU HAVE SIMS FOUR??!! I AM SO JEALOUS!! CAN I DOWNLOAD IT ON MY COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!???????
Hopefully this will motivate her to come visit for a weekend soon.
He quickly created a computer geek, who likes to spend all his time either on the computer or on the treadmill. He did send his Sim out to socialize when I pushed him to, but his attempt to ask out another Sim went down in flames, as she stalked off upset. After a while I kicked him off and made my own Sim, who is a budding musician who wants to be an entertainer. I am totally non-musical, which is why I thought this would be a fun change of pace.
In Sims 4 you have even more control over how your Sims look. You can actually sculpt them by hand, and design a specific room in the house. The Sims themselves are smarter and have bigger personalities. They kind of have a mind of their own in fact! It is different from previous iterations of the Sims games because they don’t always do what you want them to do. It is easy to see how your Sim is feeling, although it is not always easy to figure out how to fix problems. And they take care of their own needs, for example my Sim kept deciding to take naps because she needed rest. Apparently being a musician is exhausting!
The Sims 4 new and bigger personalities allow you to create more amusing and weird stories. We had fun making the Sims do awkward dances, and tell strange jokes. As you play longer and get more detailed even more possibilities will emerge.
You can also share your creativity easily with friends. The Gallery function lets you upload you Sim or add other uploaded Sims to your game. This will be perfect for sharing Sims with friends and family. I like the idea of being able to include the Sims the kids have made in my game, so I can interact with their Sims in the game. It is just another way to make Sims part of family fun! This is a great game for winding down after a busy day, or staying entertained on a rainy weekend.

Wow, the Sims are much more life like now verses the last time I played them! I think I left off on Sims two!
I used to spend hours playing this game. I can’t believe how much the graphics have improved and of course the things that the SIMS can do. Can’t wait to check it out.
I have never played this game but I know it is easy to get sucked into it and hard to step away from it!
I haven’t played SIMS in years! It still looks as fun as ever.
I love the Sims! It’s the one game I get totally addicted to! My favorite part is leveling up their stats.
Definiitely looks like a game that my kids would enjoy!
This looks like a great game. I know the Sims 3 was awesome, so I’m sure this will be a winner, too!
This game is going to be awesome. I love the Sims 3. My niece is obsessed with it, also.
This game totally sucks you in, but is fun too!
I absolutely CAN’T WAIT I play The Sims 3 and it’s cool but I LOVE the way the SIMS 4 allows you to really customize your Sims. Creating Sims and Homes is the best part of playing! My 17 year old niece loves to play too and when she spends the night for a visit, we usually take turns playing and watching each other.
My nephew has played Sims for years. I think I may get this for him for Christmas!
I love how everyone can play The Sims in their own way! Emotional or driven by money, there is something for everybody! #client
