Turkey and cheese crescent rolls are the ideal dinner when you’ve got precisely 20 minutes and no mental energy left. You get buttery crescent dough wrapped around savory turkey and melted cheese, baked to golden perfection. They’re handheld, they’re hot, and they disappear in no time.

A hand dips an everything-seasoned crescent roll sandwich with ham and cheese into a small bowl of yellow sauce on a white plate.

These are my go-to for everything from football parties to those nights when cooking feels impossible. They use store-bought crescent dough, deli turkey, and whatever cheese you’ve got hanging around.

The whole thing takes less time than ordering pizza and costs way less. Let’s face it, sometimes the simplest things work best. These rolls come out crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and substantial enough that two or three make a real dinner. Add a bagged salad and move on with your night.

The beauty is in the flexibility. Make them as-is for a low-stress weeknight meal or for your next game-day party. This is a recipe that takes 5 minutes to assemble, 15 minutes to bake, and no special skills to master. All that and it makes you look like you’ve got your act together.

In this post, I’ll walk you through my foolproof method for getting perfectly golden, melty crescent rolls. You’ll love having this recipe in your back pocket when you need dinner to happen without the drama.

Ingredient Notes

For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

  • Crescent rolls
  • Deli turkey
  • Cheese: Sharp cheddar works beautifully here, but use whatever cheese your family likes.
  • Butter
  • Everything bagel seasoning
A wooden cutting board with butter, sliced cheddar cheese, a can of crescent rolls, deli turkey slices, and a bowl of everything bagel seasoning, each labeled.

How to Make Turkey & Cheese Crescent Rolls

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. Pop open that crescent roll can and carefully separate the triangles along the perforated lines. Lay them out on your work surface so you have room to work with each one.
  3. Place one slice of turkey at the wider bottom part of each crescent triangle, folding it over so it fits nicely.
  4. Cut a slice of cheese in half and place one half on top of the turkey.
  5. Starting at the wide end where your turkey and cheese are, tightly roll each triangle toward the point to form that classic crescent shape. Place each one on your prepared sheet tray as you go, making sure they have a little space between them.
  6. Melt the butter in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Add the everything bagel seasoning and stir. Use a pastry brush to generously coat the top of each roll with the seasoned butter mixture.
  7. Place the tray in your preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown and puffed. Keep an eye on them toward the end because ovens vary, and you don’t want them to get too dark.
  8. Let the rolls cool on the pan for about 5 minutes before serving. This helps the cheese firm up enough to pick up the roll.

Serving Ideas

These turkey and cheese crescent rolls work for basically any meal. Serve them warm straight from the oven as the star of a quick lunch alongside a simple side salad or a bowl of tomato soup. They taste just as good at room temperature, making them perfect for lunchboxes, picnics, or days when you need to feed hungry people on the go.

For a more substantial dinner, pair these with roasted vegetables or a simple green salad tossed with vinaigrette. The everything bagel seasoning gives them enough flavor that they don’t need much else, but a side of honey mustard dip or a spicy mayo works wonderfully if you want to get fancy.

How to Store

These rolls keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, so you can make a batch and have grab-and-go options for a few days. Store them in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap to keep them fresh and prevent them from drying out.

If you want to reheat them, pop them into a 350-degree F oven for about 5 minutes until they’re warm again. The oven method keeps the pastry crispy rather than soggy.

Tips & Tricks

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • Use a pastry brush to add the butter. It isn’t easy to get an even coating with a spoon.
  • Don’t have everything bagel seasoning on hand? Try these instead:
    • Garlic powder and sesame seeds
    • Italian seasoning
    • Just a sprinkle of sea salt
    • Poppy seeds mixed with a pinch of onion powder.
  • Crescent rolls can go from perfectly golden to overdone in a flash. Start checking at the 12-minute mark. You’re looking for that beautiful golden brown color on top, not deep brown.
  • Want to prep these the night before? Roll them up, place them on your parchment-lined tray, cover tightly with plastic wrap, and refrigerate. In the morning, let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes while your oven preheats, brush with the seasoned butter, and bake as directed. Game changer for busy mornings.
  • These rolls can stick to the pan because the cheese melts. Parchment paper makes cleanup easy and ensures your crescents release cleanly. You can also use a silicone baking mat or give your pan a good coating of cooking spray.
  • You can also air fry these. Place 4 crescents in your air fryer basket at 350 degrees F for about 8-10 minutes.
