In Season 2 of V Hobbes constantly calls Ryan out as a traitor even though his treachery has far worse consequences. He doesn’t seem to be able to see the hypocrisy of his actions. Have you ever been in a situation where someone regardless of their own actions kept pointing out what you were doing wrong?
I think every one has been in situations like this. It is always easier to see when someone else is doing something wrong that to see what you are doing wrong. I know I am quick to point out all the things the kids have forgotten to pick up or clean, when there are plenty of things I have left laying around the house too. It is easier for most people to see someone else’s faults than there own.
Of course I’ve never dealt with this in a serious situation like the one in V, where the fate of humanity is at stake. The situations I have had to deal with are more annoying, and I just try to laugh them off or ignore them. Someone who berates you for faults they have themselves is annoying, but I am sure it is much worse when there is more at stake.
So how did Ryan deal with this situation with Hobbes? Check out the second season of V on DVD or Bluray to find out. Check out this video for a preview.
Let me know if you have faced a situation like this, and how you worked around it to move forward!
Disclosure: I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote V Season Two on DVD.
